With rhythmic, rhyming verse, this picture book follows a Boriqua girl and a Black girl from birth through early childhood, culminating in a play date that is a celebration of natural hair for both the girls and their mothers.
Creators
NoNieqa Ramos grew up in the Bronx, where she started her own publishing company and sold books for twenty-five cents until the nuns shut her down. A frequent foster parent, NoNieqa lives in Ashburn, Virginia, with her family.
Keisha Morris is a freelance writer and illustrator for picture books. She earned her BFA at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York and currently lives in Maryland.
