Helper and Helper
More funny stories and wry observations with the bestselling Snake and Lizard.
Two very different creatures learn about the give-and-take of friendship in this warm and funny story set in the desert. Snake is elegant and calm, and a little self-centred; Lizard is exuberant and irrepressible. With its wisdom, acceptance and good humour, Snake and Lizard captures the essence of friendship.
The stories are beautifully illustrated by Gavin Bishop in warm and clear colours of the desert.

Reviews
Joy Cowley’s witty narrative will keep young readers amused. Gavin Bishop’s colour illustrations capture the various moods of the stories. The desert creatures are sympathetically depicted warts and all – yes, there are toads – and his beautiful endpapers display a wide range of birdlife.
The Source
Much clever humour, and occasionally a small measure of sadness… Most deservedly a nominee for the NZ Children’s Book Awards.

Not a word out of place … in the tradition of Aesop’s fables but much funnier and a little bit more unexpected.
