Creators
Jill McDougall tried working as a waitress, a bus driver, a biscuit sorter and a deck-hand before setting on a teaching career. For many years, she combined teaching with writing and created poems, plays and short stories to entertain her pupils. Jill’s first published book (a selection of poems) arose from the ten years she spent teaching on remote indigenous communities in Australia. She is the author of the award winning book, Anna the Goanna. Jinxed is her first book with Walker Books.

Jinxed is a humorous novel for upper primary aged readers, with interest enough to carry through to lower secondary readers. The short length and fast paced action will keep even reluctant readers engaged, and the mix of mice, pythons, jokes and multi-text types including lists, emails and jokes means there is plenty happening.An excellent read and an attractively packaged book.
