Penny Matthews is an author and editor who lives in South Australia. Her books include Moving On, A Year on Our Farm, Potato Baby, The Best Pet, The Sea Dog and Jack's Owl. A Year on the Farm won the CBCA Book of the Year: Early Childhood and was also named an honour book for Picture Book of the Year 2003. Heart of Magic is her first book for Walker Books.

This book was very interesting and fun to read it had a lot of things happening at once it made you feel happy, sad, excited and angry all at once. I really enjoyed this book and rate it a 5/5 and recommend it for people who enjoy happy endings and believe in magic.
