Herbert Leupin
Herbert Leupin was born in 1916 in Beinwil am See. The Swiss graphic designer is one of the most important international poster designers. Between 1932 and 1935 Leupin attended the School of Applied Arts in Basel. From 1944 to 1949, he then created the illustrations for a well-known collection of the fairy tales of the Brothers Grimm. In 1964 his works were shown at the documenta III in Kassel. In 1968 he won the gold medal of the Poster Biennial of Warsaw. Herbert Leupin died in 1999 in Basel. His work was characterized by a humorous and bright colorful style.
