Leslie Patricelli

Leslie Patricelli is the writer of the books Blankie, Dummy, Yummy Yucky, Quiet Loud and Big Little. Leslie Patricelli grew up in Seatlle, Washington and Leslie majored in Communications at the University of Washington. She became an advertising copywriter after college then became a ski instructor in Italy before working as an illustrator. She created and animated Rover the Dog for Windows XP help and is currently working on her ninth book and creating animated shorts for Playhouse Disney. Leslie’s inspiration for her books comes from her own children, she says, “I found myself saying ‘Yummy!’ and ‘Yucky!’ all the time. I began to draw a baby dramatically expressing his taste or distaste for the things he was eating. The idea of Yummy Yucky was born!”
